The Primrose Ring
Adapted from: The Primrose Ring by Ruth Sawyer (1915)
Margaret MacLean (Mae Murray) was a foundling with a twisted spine when she was brought, many years earlier, to the incurables ward of Dr. MacLean's hospital, and given her benefactor's last name. Through surgery and her own childlike faith in fairies, Margaret regained the ability to walk and vowed to devote her life to caring for disabled children. Margaret becomes a nurse in the children's ward of Dr. MacLean's hospital, where she enchants the little ones with stories of fairies. But after the beloved doctor's death, his son Bob, whom she had once worshipped, returns home from medical school abroad and decrees that he is closing the ward and that Margaret's little charges must leave the hospital.
This film was co-written by Frances Marion and Catherine Carr.
